Description générale :
Is there a voting system that avoids manipulation? Do we always make the best choices with better information? How do we define the criteria by which public policy is evaluated? How are we assigning students to universities? More generally, how to design methods of collective decision-making or forms of organization that meet both democratic principles and criteria of political stability? What can be the impact of human behavior, how can it be predicted and accounted for? The objective of this course is to present some of the main results of decision theory, game theory, social choice theory and normative analysis. For more than 60 years, these theories have enriched the understanding of decision-making in a society where interrelated relationships are becoming increasingly complex. We will also discuss how artificial intelligence and big data can be applied to such theories.
