General Description:

Increasing awareness of the pressure of human activities exerted on the environment today is undeniable, both from a point of view of the depletion of resources related to raw material exploitation and consumption and that of emissions. Methods and tools are available in order to assess the effects of anthropogenic activities on the environment. But … what are their foundations, how do they work, how to interpret the results obtained, how to use them for decision taking ? The engineering students will discover elements of reflection, the tools, knowledge and the necessary skills for the environmental assessment of organisations (processes, enterprises, services, etc) and the integration of these elements into decision taking processes (strategic choices, ecodesign, etc).

Key words:

Environmental indicators Greenhouse gas emissions Carbon footprints LCA (life cycle analysis) Assessment of environmental pressures and impacts Environmental stakes
