  • General Description:

The 3rd year internship involves the engineering student taking on a scientific or industrial project in a complex environment. It will enable the validation of the professional project by an in-house experience. It includes assuming the necessary autonomy related to choices of means and methods to successfully carry out the mission. As with other internships, it reinforces general skills and competencies and self-awareness.

The preparation of internship research, in continuity with the 2nd year, covers the acquisition of job seeking tools (CV, cover letters and interviews).

The internship can be combined with a Research Master’s internship, and take place in France or abroad.

Assessment by the School is in the form of a short summary including a contextual perspective of the experience, in terms of the professional project, and feedback from the company. The assessment (for example for a Master’s research programme) will be specific and independent of the validation of the Civil Engineering programme diploma.

The objectives of the internship are as follows :

Principle objective: taking on and successfully completing in an autonomous manner, a scientific or industrial project in a complex environment.

    Secondary objectives :

    - to validate the professional project by an in-house experience

    - to manage the standard tools of communication for job-seeking purposes (CV, cover letters, interviews)

The industrial or research project may be followed by an internship based on the same theme, notably in the context of a Research Master’s programme.

The multi-disciplinary projects “professions” and “activities” are valuable aids to explain how the Final Diploma Thesis can be a natural form of validating an experience favouring access to a first job posting.

The 3rd year internship validates the professional project and should therefore be coherent with the choices of majors and multi-disciplinary specialisations.

The 3rd year internship is an important element in the general review of the Engineering Master’s diploma during the final oral.
