Course group - P-PR
Ongoing work
Research workshop (projet recherche) aims at investigating the research area, first time for students. Individual job mentoring thanks to tutors (researcher, Full time job-Ph.D student) from Mines Saint-Etienne. 196 hours are dedicated through the student schedule (3A) from end of January till end of March, S10.
Objectives & research workshop management
Research workshop will emphasize some skills, required in every engineer role:
- understanding and applying research methodology. Hands-on some quite new project as research project;
- Using research backbone:
state of the art/defining the topic, defining the playground/
- improving skills to convince and to evaluate its own results/ideas
English communicating skills: presentation, pitch, poster, writing an article.
The Research project may be joined with industriel project. In this manner it would be possible for the student to go further into detail in his industrial project work by testing an innovative approach.
The Research project could also be associated with certain multi-disciplinary projects such as research in the healthcare engineering field into the optimisation of patient pathways.
The Research project is connected to Majors and multi-disciplinary projects and inter-disciplinary options. Inter-major projects are welcome.
Finally, the Research project is at the end of the cursus and consequently corresponds to the student’s professional approach, allowing him to integrate an industrial internship and a job field of interests. The motto is: integrating any job through the research approach; it is beneficial. The pitch approach is a job efficient approach, through companies.
