General Description:

This UP provides an overview of transport and mobility system planning, mobilising economic, organisational and transport engineering approaches. First, the main basic concepts on transport and mobility (of people and goods) are presented: basic vocabulary, modes and types of transport, actors involved, main economic trends in the sector, etc. Then, it presents through the theory of freight transport systems, the main types of transport schemes, their organisation as well as the main decisions and actions to be taken into account in their planning, at strategic, tactical and operational level; economic analysis methods for evaluating the performance of these transport organisations are also presented. In addition, there will be presentations by professionals on the practical aspects of transport organisation (construction of a transport plan, urban mobility planning issues) and collaborative economies (new modes of urban mobility and info-mobility) as well as a field visit and feedback to address the practical aspects of transport and mobility system planning .
