General Description:

The first year of study (L3) is centred around two teaching modules which we have termed the “Case Study” in the first semester, and “Risks and Industrial Accidents” in the second semester. Both these modules will require an in-depth study of documents taken from different authentic sources and will also include interviews with experts and researchers. They will then be expected to form their own personal opinions and present this to a jury.

The aim is to develop their capacity to understand other cultures and points of view, and to put their own into perspective. The complex and varied documents which may be scientific, cultural or economic in nature will entail demanding language work and require them to get to grips with different viewpoints before coming to their own conclusions.
