The objectives of this course are to provide basics in production planning, scheduling and the integration of production planning with other decisions such as inventory routing and scheduling. The goal is to learn how to model practical production planning and scheduling problems and how to solve them using operational research approaches (Lagrangian relaxation, heuristics, ...). The goal is also to understand how an Advanced Planning Systems (APS) works. A lecture is devoted to the production of healthcare services.
The objective is also to provide some basic insights on how transportation and distribution can be designed and optimized. It will propose academic material on some important issues in distribution planning: vehicle routing and warehousing.
The course will be evaluated through a mini-project, where students will face a realistic problematic and will have to develop a decision-making tool.A la fin de l’unité pédagogique, l’élève sera capable de : | Niveau de taxonomie | Priorité |
