  • General Description:

This one-year Master of Science program on "Industrial Engineering and Operation Research for the Industry of the Future (IEOR-IF)"  offers a curriculum dedicated to develop your high level competences in the field of organisation, modelling and optimisation of production and logistic systems, which covers the three decisionand management levels: strategic, tactical and operational. The application fields are both the Industry of the Future (Production and manufacturing sector) and the Health of the Future (Health Care sector).

The objective is to develop the technical  skills and expertise of student to increase their abilities of modeling, decision-making and innovation for the transformation or industrial and health-care organisations towards more reactivity, agility and personalisation. The program covers advanced techniques of industrial engineering and operations research including modeling, performance evaluation, design, production planning and scheduling, supply chain management and maintenance of both manufacturing, service and logistics systems. Special attention is given to major issues raised in the design and operation of manufacturing and service systems. Thanks to the close relationships that the research labs enjoy with some major economic actors, students can learn how to apply these cutting-edge techniques and how to face the complexity of various industrial sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing, health care delivery systems, automotive industry and transportation.

    Links between course units:

The various cours units covers complementary types of advances methods for modeling, performance evaluating and decision-making. The curriculum is constituted by two semesters : the first semester is academic and the second one is dedicated to a research internship (Industrial research or academic research).

The main ECTS of the academic semester are provided by 6 complementary teaching units (4 ECTS per unit)  :

    • Operations management of production systems and supply chains
    • Optimisation and decision support
    • Enterprise modelling and engineering
    • Design and performance evaluation of manufacturing systems
    • Planning and scheduling of production and logistics systems
    • Customer-centred strategies for Supply- Chain Management

Complementary ECTS are provided with :

    • Literature Survey Study (3 ECTS)
    • English courses (3 ECTS)

The second semester is dedicated to a 5/6 month internship, with two options :

    - Internship within a laboratory, in the field of industrial engineering and operation research. Le local laboratories supporting the Master offer of course several opportunities of internships (That could be also in collaboration with companies), but this is also fully open to alternative opportunities in the same field of research. This kind of internships is interesting for any student and fully necessary for any student looking for a PhD after the Master.

    - Intership within a company, also in the field of industrial engineering and operation research. In paralell with the operational and concrete mission demanded by the company, the Master Student should also develop an applied-research personal work. At the end of the intership the student will prepare two distinct and complementary oral presentations :one dedicated to the industrial mission ; the second one putting the focus on the research work.

Orientations / Associations with other courses:

    PhD Opportunities

The Master of Science offers good very opportunities of PhD for the best students. The PhD proposal can be open in various application field oriented on Industry of the Future and Health of the Future.

    Job Opportunities

The Master of Sciences offers a large variety of potential employement, at the national and international level. Different types of positions are very pertinent with the competences developed:

    • Research oriented carreers, either starting via academic research in laboratories or research and developement in the industry or health care sector ;
    • Industrial and organisational management at different level of decision-making
    • Consulting companies, notably in the fields of Digitalisation, Performance and organisation improvement, Process management, Re-engineering and enterprise transformation
