General Description:

ECTS number : 3

This series of seminars will complement the fundamental courses, with short presentations of 1h30 to 3h per speaker. The aim will be to present to our students recent and sometimes spectacular developments in materials in the most varied fields possible. Most of the speakers will come from industry or academic institutions other than MINES St-Etienne. The proposed seminars will be differnet from one year to the next, but will cover developing fields such as:

  • Innovative materials processes (additive manufacturing),
  • Digital metallurgy,
  • Materials for the energy transition and for major industrial fields (aeronautics, nuclear, automotive),
  • New generation metal alloys: high entropy alloys (HEA),
  • Most advanced materials characterization methods (such as Atom Probe Tomography),
  • ...

Key words:

New materials in industry Materials for energy transition Materials for energy production New materials porcesses New characterization methods
