Course group - ITS_ITS
The aim of the Information Technologies and Supply Chains course is to train computer science students in new skills covering three subject fields:
- Communicating technologies
- Optimisation and decisional tools
- Production systems and logistics
On completion of the course students will be capable of:
- understanding the complexity of logistic processes and be able to assess, integrate or develop computer tools for effective management of logistics;
- integrating new communicating technologies in their computer systems.
The course group consists of five course units:
- Course 1 - Short range communicating technologies;
- Course 2 - Supply chain planning;
- Course 3 - e-business and big data;
- Course 4 -Decision support tools;
- Course 5 -Industrial Seminars and Visits.
These course units allow students to be trained in different concepts (communicating technologies, optimisation and decision support tools, production and logistics) to reach the objectives listed above. The first course deals with communicating technologies and their integration, the second deals with optimisation questions encountered in logistic chains and courses 3 and 4 cover optimisation tools and data analysis. Course n° 5 combines seminars and industrial visits.
The technological aim of the ITS course is in continuity with other courses since it enables a large range of questions to be covered allowing knowledge enhancement on demand.
